Robert Mouawad inherited the family’s high-end jewellery business, which his grandfather founded in Beirut in 1890. He handed management of the company to his sons, Fred, Alain, and Pascal, in 2010 and with the dawn of the second decade of the 21st century, the fifth generation joining the family business, including Jimmy Mouawad and Anastasia Mouawad. Mouawad owns one of the world’s most notable gem collections, including Dynasty, a 51.12-carat Russian diamond estimated to be worth nearly $10 million. He also owns real estate, including hotels in Beirut, and developed luxury residences on Reef Island in Bahrain.
