Founded in 1963 as a small gramophone record shop, the group has since expanded to operate across key sectors including automotive, electronics, construction, manufacturing, education, lifestyle, retail, and services. In 2025, Almuftah opened a new auto service centre in Al Wakra, expanding Sterling Restaurants with new Pizza Hut and TCBY locations, and launched Almuftah Maison, a cosmetics and perfumes brand.
