Al-Sulaiti joined the company as CEO in 2011. In July 2025, Nakilat launched its first financing package with the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) for 25 Nakilat-owned, Korean-built LNG vessels. In fact, KEXIM was the initial financier for Nakilat’s first round of fleet financing in 2006. In 2024, Nakilat also signed long-term contracts with QatarEnergy, which include the charter and operation of 25 conventional LNG carriers, with a 174,000 cubic-meter capacity each and a long-term agreement to charter and operate nine QC-Max class LNG vessels with a capacity of 271,000 cubic meters each. Al-Sulaiti also serves as the Chairman of Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions and Qatar Fabrication Company.
