Alwetaid assumed his current position in 2021. In H1 2025, stc recorded revenues of $10.3 billion and its total assets of $40.5 billion. As of June 2025, stc’s 5G network covered over 9,500 sites across Saudi Arabia. The group became the first operator in the region to commercially activate the low-frequency spectrum (600 MHz – N71) band. In May 2025, stc signed a $533.3 million partnership agreement with Oracle, to accelerate digital transformation in Saudi Arabia. Alwetaid is also the chairman of SAMENA and a board member at KACST.
