Malak has been at the helm of Etihad Rail since 2018. Etihad Rail is the developer and operator of the U.A.E.'s national railway network. In January 2025, the company announced the groundbreaking high-speed rail project linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai in just 30 minutes. In October 2024, the company secured a $1.5 billion in financing agreement for the Hafeet Rail project, a joint railway network connecting the U.A.E. and Oman. Malak is a board member of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and Abu Dhabi Transport. Malak is also the Chairman of Hafeet Rail.
