Bin Kalban assumed his current position in 2020. EGA is among the biggest premium aluminum producers in the world, with operations from alumina refining to the production of cast metal and recycling. In December 2025, EGA and China’s Sunstone announced the construction of a $300 million anode manufacturing plant in the UAE, with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year. In 2025, EGA sold 2.83 million tons of aluminum and reported $8.7 billion in revenue. It also signed an initiative with TAQA, DUBAL Holding, and EWEC to decarbonize aluminum production. Bin Kalban is a board member of the International Aluminium Institute and the Gulf Aluminium Council.
