Al-Kharafi assumed his current position in 2017. The Kuwait-based techco group reported $1.9 billion in revenues in Q1 2026 and had 51.2 million active customers across eight countries. During the same quarter, Zain Ventures' strategic investments recorded gains of $123 million. Zain's partnership with Ooredoo and TASC continues to progress toward establishing the MENA region's largest TowerCo following recent regulatory approvals in Qatar. Al-Kharafi is also chairman of Boursa Kuwait, INJAZ Kuwait, FOO Solutions, TASC Towers; and vice-chairman of Gulf Cables and National Investments Company; and founder of the investment firm BNK Holding.
