Ezz Al-Arab was reappointed CEO and Board Member of CIB-Egypt in November 2024. CIB operates across Egypt, Kenya, Ethiopia, and the UAE, serving more than 2.5 million customers through 214 branches as of March 2026. In Q1 2026, CIB reported $30.1 billion in total assets. In 2025, it extended $638.8 million in long-term financing to SCZONE for infrastructure and utilities projects. In 2026, CIB secured the Central Bank of Egypt’s clearance to start the due diligence on HSBC’s retail banking portfolio. Ezz Al-Arab had served as chairman and managing director of CIB for nearly two decades.
