Xiao has been leading G42 since its founding in 2018, growing it into a sovereign AI platform spanning five continents with more than 22,000 employees worldwide. In November 2025, G42 and Microsoft announced a 200-megawatt data center expansion under Microsoft's $15.2 billion UAE investment commitment for 2023–2029. During 2025 and 2026, G42 expanded its global AI infrastructure across India, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, the US, and Europe, including new operations in Dublin and AI compute deployments in France and Italy. Xiao also serves as chairman of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and M42 and sits on the boards of AIATC and MBZUAI.
