Omantel has been providing telecommunications services in Oman since 1970. It had reached over 52 million subscribers across eight MENA countries, including 3.54 million mobile subscribers in Oman as of December 2024. Omantel had a 21.9% ownership stake in the Zain Group as of May 2025. In January 2025, Omantel partnered with U.S.-based Airgain to boost 5G connectivity across the MENA region.
