Al-Mayman was appointed to her current role in 2018, becoming the first national from the GCC to lead at UN Tourism and the first woman to lead the Middle East. She currently supervises a regional group consisting of 13 member states, one special observer country, and 51 affiliate members. Al-Mayman was previously a board member of the UN Tourism’s Sustainable Tourism Eliminating Poverty Initiative for the Middle East.
