Amer joined El Gouna as CEO in May 2022 and became Managing Director for Commercial Activities at Orascom Development Egypt in June 2025. El Gouna is one of Orascom Development’s fully integrated, sustainable towns stretching across 36.9 million square meters along the Red Sea in Egypt. The project includes 9,200 residential units for its 25,000 residents and 18 hotels. In 2024, Orascom Development Holding recorded $905 million in real estate sales, including $274 million from El Gouna. Amer is also an executive board member at Orascom Development Egypt.
