Zaal founded Zaya in 2008. She started her vision with the Zaya Nurai Island resort which was sold to Aldar in 2022. Its new project Zuhha Island Resort is set to open at the end of 2026. Zaal also established Zaya Al Barari, which achieved over 80% occupancy for three consecutive years before the business was sold. Zaal also serves on the board of FIVE Holdings.
