Laiju assumed her current role in 2021. Medcare, part of Aster DM Healthcare, has five hospitals and over 26 medical centers. In February 2025, the company announced its plan to launch 11 medical centers in two years, with investments worth $16.3 million, having launched six centers in 2024, and planning to launch another five this year, bringing the total to 26 facilities. In 2024, Medcare's Medical Centres served more than half a million patients, an increase of 20% compared to the year before. Laiju is also a member of the Aster DM Group’s Senior Management Committee.
