El Sherbini became the CEO of IDH in 2012. In June 2026, Hena Holdings, jointly owned by El Sherbini and her mother Moemena Kamel, acquired a 21.67% additional stake in IDH, bringing its total stake to 56.66%. In July 2026, IDH's Egyptian brand, Al Mokhtabar, launched the first FLEXLAB-X lab automation system in the Middle East and Africa in partnership with Siemens Healthineers. In 2025, the group saw a $12 million expansion, inaugurating a Life Oncology Center and a radiology facility in East Cairo. El Sherbini is a professor of clinical pathology at Cairo University.
