China missed a key climate target in 2024, with carbon intensity—measuring carbon dioxide emissions per unit of its gross domestic product (GDP)—declining by 3.4% from the previous year, falling short of the official 3.9% goal, according to Beijing's National Bureau of Statistics on Friday.
