Van Eck assumed his current position in 2023. Mediclinic Middle East operates six hospitals, 27 clinics including two public-private partnership clinics, three fertility and IVF centers, and one day case clinic, with over 970 beds, 1,600 doctors, 8,000 employees, and four million patient visits annually. In June 2025, it completed the expansion of Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi, consolidating two facilities. Van Eck first joined Mediclinic South Africa in 2005 and relocated to the Middle East in 2014. He is also a member of the UAE Health Council.
