Al-Buhairan assumed his current position in January 2026. Lifera, a PIF company, is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to advancing Saudi Arabia’s biopharma sector and enabling the National Biotech Strategy. Al-Buhairan is also chairman of SAUDIBIO, a Lifera subsidiary to advance insulin localization and other biologics. He also chairs Lifera Omics, a precision medicine enabler. The third subsidiary was announced in October 2025 with Jamjoom Pharma to develop, manufacture, and commercialize vaccines, biologics, and biosimilars in Saudi Arabia.
