Abo Al Fadl assumed his current role in 2020, having first joined Merck in 2002. By the end of 2025, the UAE National Diabetes Prevention Programme, in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention, had expanded to screen half a million individuals. The Rawan Patient Support Programme reached 50 patients in 2025 in the UAE and 28 in 2026, while also supporting 40 patients in Kuwait since its launch in 2023. It also has an expanding fertility awareness program developed with FemTech startup Ovasave. Abo Al Fadl is also a member of the executive committee of PHRMAG.
