Since inception through December 2025, Qalaa allocated approximately $21 million to community and environmental initiatives. Its first holding-level Carbon Footprint Report recorded an 11.5% year-on-year reduction in total GHG emissions in 2025. Subsidiary Tawazon supplied waste-derived alternative fuels to energy-intensive industries. That year, GlassRock inaugurated a glass-wool pipe-insulation line; its products can reduce end-users’ energy consumption by up to 40%, while its operations recycle up to 60% of production waste and treat all industrial wastewater on-site. Hammouda joined Qalaa in 2008 and assumed her current role in 2015.
