Hariharan joined Canon in 2006 and stepped into his current position in 2021. The company launched its Women Who Empower program in March 2024 in partnership with the Dubai Businesswomen Council and expanded it to Saudi Arabia in December through a collaboration with AlNahda. In 2024-2025, Canon Middle East collaborated with Arab National Bank, United Arab Bank, Ajman Bank, and Almajdouei Holding to launch climate projects that offset emissions from Canon-related print processes through forestation initiatives. Hariharan also serves on the board of directors for Canon’s direct operations in the U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
