Alghamdi has led Saudi Arabia’s SDAIA since its inception in 2019, responsible for national data and artificial intelligence regulation and development. SDAIA manages key state platforms including the Tawakkalna app, the Kingdom’s app for governmental e-services, the National Data Bank, and the “Deem” Government Cloud. As of July 2025, SDAIA enabled over 330 government and semigovernment entities to exchange data through 311 e-services, with over 3.9 billion transactions. Alghamdi is a professor of software engineering and author of more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
