Laiju assumed her current position in 2019. Medcare, part of Aster DM Healthcare, has six hospitals and over 25 medical centres across the UAE. In 2025, Medcare opened a 120-bed hospital in Sharjah, which launched and executed the UAE’s first-ever Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA) procedure in July 2026. In January 2026, Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital introduced MOVIVA, a non-surgical, medicine-free endoscopic weight-loss procedure. Laiju first joined Medcare in 2003.
