Al-Khater was appointed as group CEO in December 2025. As of March 2026, Qatar Airways Group's network reached 183 destinations with a fleet of 313 aircraft. In FY2025-26, the group generated $23 billion in revenues and $1.94 billion in net profit, carrying 41.8 million passengers. It also signed agreements with Boeing and GE Aerospace for the acquisition and servicing of up to 210 aircraft and 400 engines. Before Qatar Airways, Al-Khater was the COO at Hamad International Airport.
