Al Shanfari joined OCEC in his current role in 2018. OCEC is Oman’s flagship venue for conferences, exhibitions, and large-scale events. In 2025, OCEC hosted over 250 events, attracting 1.8 million visitors, clients, and participants. OCEC is finalizing an on-site water treatment system to supply safe drinking water across the venue. Al Shanfari has been selected to serve as president of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) for the 2027–2028 term. He is also a board member of Nama Supply Electricity Company and the Oman Tourism Association, and is chairman of Crowne Plaza OCEC, among others.
