Khalil joined Alstom in 2014 and assumed his current position in 2024. In November 2024, Alstom extended its partnership with the Saudi Railway Company to enhance its east-west freight corridor. The $80 million technical support and spare part supply agreement is valid for five years. In April 2025, Alstom signed a usufruct agreement for a 40-feddan plot in Egypt to establish an industrial complex for the production of rolling stock units, railway components, and infrastructure systems. Khalil is also a board member of the European Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia. He started his career in 1996 in the U.S. as a field coordinator for Vanir Construction Management.
