Al-Kharafi became Zain Group CEO in 2017 after joining its board in 2011 and serving as vice chairman from 2014. Zain operates across eight MEA markets, serving 51.3 million customers as of September 2025. Revenues rose 15% year-on-year to $5.4 billion in the first nine months of 2025 – a 16-year high. In 2025, ZainTECH joined NVIDIA Partner Network as a reseller, expanding AI & GPU services across the region. Al-Kharafi also chairs Boursa Kuwait and serves as vicechairman of INJAZ Kuwait.
