Al Hassawi became CEO of du in 2020. Established in 2006, du provides mobile, fixed, broadband, ICT, network infrastructure, and fintech services. In October 2025, the company deployed 5G+ at Sharjah International Airport and partnered with Accenture to deliver comprehensive cloud transformation services. By end of September 2025, du had a 9.2 mobile million subscribers and 718,000 fixed subscribers. In the first nine months of 2025, du recorded $3.2 billion in revenues. Al Hassawi is chairman of du Pay, and serves on advisory boards at Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa), and the Dubai Chambers of Digital Economy.
