Benchaaboun has been at the helm of Maroc Telecom since March 2025. As of September 2025, its customer base increased by 1.8% year-over-year to over 81 million customers, and its 2025 nine-month revenues reached $3 billion. In November 2025, Maroc Telecom launched 5G in the Kingdom, following its 2025 joint ventures with Inwi, Uni Fiber, and Uni Tower, through $486.8 million investment, to accelerate the 5G rollout. Benchaaboun previously served as Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance, among other roles.
