Abdulla Al Futtaim owns conglomerate Al-Futtaim, which is run by his son Omar, vice chairman and CEO. In 1955, the group became the exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, and it still holds the distributorship today. Al-Futtaim also has the licence to operate Hertz, Ikea, Toys “R” Us, and Marks & Spencer in the UAE. Those retailers anchor its malls, including Dubai Festival City, Dubai Festival Plaza, Doha Festival City, and Cairo Festival City.
