Naguib Sawiris is a member of Egypt’s wealthiest family. His brothers, Nassef and Samih, are also billionaires. He built a fortune in telecoms, selling Orascom Telecom in 2011 to Russian telecom firm VimpelCom, now Veon, in a multibillion-dollar deal. He is the executive chairman of Orascom Investment Holding, a holding company with a diversified portfolio targeting high-growth sectors in Egypt and Africa. Since 2012, Sawiris has expanded into gold mining through La Mancha Resource Capital and, in 2017, entered real estate by founding ORA Developers Holding Limited. He also developed Silversands, a luxury resort on the Caribbean island of Grenada.
