Adel was reappointed CEO and chairman in 2025, having held the position between 2018 and 2020. He oversees the group’s seven subsidiaries including EGYPTAIR Airlines, EGYPTAIR Cargo, and EGYPTAIR Duty Free, among others. EGYPTAIR flies to 85 destinations, in addition to serving over 70 airports through codeshare agreements. The airline is expanding its fleet with 14 new aircraft scheduled for delivery from 2026 through the end of June 2027. Adel is also a member of the board of governors of the International Air Transport Association and a member of executive committees of the Arab Air Carriers' Organization, the African Airlines Association, and the Star Alliance.
