EKH’s portfolio of investments includes more than 19 companies across six sectors: petrochemicals, fertilizers, gas distribution, electricity generation & distribution, upstream gas, and insurance & non-banking financial services. EKH employs over 5,000 people. In 2021, it established four new factories, and launched the microfinance company, Bedayti. It also invested in its subsidiary “Kahraba” to increase its electricity generation capacity by 40 MW to reach 135 MW, in addition to expanding the electricity distribution license by 100 MW, bringing the total distribution capacity to 235 MW. The company invested $75 million in drilling three wells to explore natural gas. It has been listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange since 1999 and on Boursa Kuwait since 2001.
