O’Leary assumed his current position in 2024. In 2026, Boehringer Ingelheim opened a new office in Algeria. It also partnered with Saudi Arabia’s National Livestock and Fisheries Development Program and AniVax to localize foot-and-mouth disease vaccine production. It also introduced a new pulmonary fibrosis treatment in the UAE and partnered with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to explore the genetic drivers of diseases through genomics research. It also signed an MoU with Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar to strengthen clinical research. O’Leary first joined Boehringer Ingelheim in 1994.
