The late Mohamed Mahmoud Zahid founded the family business as M.M. Zahid in 1943, with General Motors as its first business partner. The group operates in 14 sectors across 33 countries, with over 30 companies in its portfolio. In 2024, Zahid Business Park was inaugurated in Jeddah and currently consists of nine facilities. Zahid Tractor and CORE signed a contract with Aramco to manufacture three wireline trucks, marking the first production of such trucks in Saudi Arabia. Arabian Vehicles & Trucks Industry (AVI), a joint venture between Zahid Group and Volvo Truck Corporation, operates a 55,000 sqm facility in KAEC, where it locally assembles Volvo, Renault, and UD trucks, with a capacity of 4,000 trucks annually in a single shift. Zahid Tractor CAT recently celebrated its 75th anniversary as the official Caterpillar dealer in Saudi Arabia.
