Tyler-Smith assumed his role in January 2025. RSI is the primary gateway to the Red Sea and AMAALA destinations on Saudi Arabia's west coast. RSI serves routes to Dubai through flydubai, Doha through Qatar Airways, Milan through BeOnd and other announced European targets including Germany, the UK, and Switzerland. In September 2026, it expanded its connectivity across the GCC with Etihad Airways. The airport served over 135,000 visitors in 2025. Tyler-Smith previously held roles as operations director for Airbus, Defence Business Services, and the Atomic Weapons Establishment.
