In February 2026, Ooredoo formed Ooredoo Fibre Networks (OFN), a dedicated entity aimed at scaling subsea and fiber infrastructure investments. In May 2026, Ooredoo partnered with du to land FIG subsea cable system in the UAE, to deliver up to 720 Tbps capacity through 24 fibre pairs across the GCC. Fakhroo previously served as deputy undersecretary for budget, treasury, and financial affairs at the Ministry of Finance.
