Ezz Eldin assumed his current role in 2024. In June 2026, Novartis signed an MoU with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to explore collaboration in genomics research and development, building on Abu Dhabi’s strengths in precision medicine and the Emirati Genome Program, which has sequenced over 900,000 genomes to date. In December 2025, Novartis’ treatment for spinal muscular atrophy was administered for the first time in Abu Dhabi, making the UAE the first country in the world to administer the treatment. Ezz Eldin is also vice chairman of PharmMEA.
