Assiri assumed his current role in 2023. The Najran Health Cluster comprises 11 hospitals, 69 primary healthcare centers, and nine specialized centers. Total bed capacity is 1,459. In 2025, the cluster launched INSPIRE 2025, a population health initiative focused on diabetes and pre-diabetes screening. Its STEMI pathway improvement project reduced heart-attack mortality from 11.11% in 2024 to 3.26% by October 2025. Assiri is also the chairman of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center and Health and Social Affairs Committee in Asir Province.
