Cotterill assumed her role in 2024, overseeing 950 employees across the Middle East and Africa (excluding Saudi Arabia). In July 2025, at the Dubai FinTech Summit, Cigna Healthcare became the first and exclusive healthcare provider to offer companies registered with Ignyte, a network of 3,000 startups, 300 mentors, and 180 investors, access to flexible coverage. In 2026, it launched its Health Literacy Initiative in the region. Cotterill joined Cigna in 2008, and served as the chief distribution officer for the MEA region, prior to her appointment as CEO.
