Chahine assumed his current position in October 2024, having been with SMC since 2000. SMC runs two hospitals and a multi-specialty clinic with 586 beds. In June 2025, it led its IPO and listing on the Saudi Exchange, raising $500 million. In H1 2026, it made $208.5 million in revenues and had $605 million in assets. In 2026, it launched SMC Clinics Al Malqa, a modern ambulatory care facility comprising 35 clinics. Chahine currently chairs the consortium that will manage SABIC Behavioral Care Specialist Hospital under a PPP model with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of ‎Health. He is also a board member of SMC’s subsidiary Gourmet 360° and Al Wadi gate fund.
